2. Intercultural capabilities for clinical staff

LEARNING ACTIVITIES:

  1. Please read the article available at:  www.health.qld.gov.au/multicultural/health_workers/CCC-clinical.pdf (the 5 intercultural capabilities are available on the table in the unnumbered page before page 1) and reflect on on how people from different countries and cultures behave, communicate and perceive the world around them.
  2. Join the MOOC Discussion Mail List on http://ieneproject.eu/community.php and send a message with the subject “Intercultural capabilities for clinical staff” in which you should reply to the following questions
    • What colleague behaviours or practices make you feel uncomfortable?
    • Do I reflect on my status and how this might affect communication and interaction with others?
    • How do I feel when others make judgements or statements about me on the basis of my culture?
  3. Read and comment on at least two of your peers' messages
